Frequently Asked Questions
- 01
A - 5 - 10 yrs depending on how you take care of it.
- 02
A - All batteries will have same BCI standard sizes unless a custom fabricated case is wanted.
- 03
A - any battery size and configuration is possible and will work with your airplane or boat, engine starting, house, trolling.
- 04
A - no charging needed unless not used... once a yr is good.. If in a vehicle with any kind of drain, attach a battery maintenance charger on lithium setting.
- 05
A - YES, Get a multi meter and check the voltage at battery right after starting. It needs to read between 14.0 and 14.4V for proper charging.
The battery will only accept the amps/current it needs. It will not ' suck the life out of the alternator ' as some have suggested..
IF the battery has drained way down because of a parasitic drain, then, yes, it will take in a large current after being jump started, which is NOT recommended as it will put a strain on the alternator. Alternators are not designed to be battery chargers. Use an EXTERNAL charger if the battery has been drained.
- 06
A - For a LithiumMoto battery, no... other lithium batteries suggest their battery voltage must be maintained above 13.28V at all times or else damage will occur. So, they recommend to never leave their battery while it is charging.
- 07
A - Lead can only use a third of its capacity, Lithium and Sodium can use 80%..
All lead batteries are capacity rated at a fraction of the C rate, thus inflating their Ah. ex. a "50 " ah lead battery with a RC / reserve capacity of 80 minutes has only a 33Ah capacity even though it is marked 50ah. The buying public doesn't know this.
- 08
A - we use higher C-rated cells.
- 09
A - No. unless you want to drain the Lithium charge into the lead battery.
- 10
A - Yes, It will just take an extra crank or two. The new Sodium batteries have a wider temp operating range.

P stands for peak discharge as in a current spike when starter 1st engaged for 1/1000 of a second.. basically a short circuit figure and not to be confused with any kind of actual cranking power. CCA applies to lead batteries only, discharging for 30 seconds at 0 degrees which no starter does. Better to use MCA/marine cranking amps or a 3 second cranking figure
